CASSOWARY COASTER
Cassowary Coaster is the new way to travel between Mission Beach and Cairns in 2025. We continue to honour the vision of service and safety previously offered by MissionLink who pioneered the service several years ago.
The Cassowary Coaster Bus service arose out of a need for public passenger transport between Mission Beach and Cairns. We operate 5 days a week except public holidays. We aim to provide a quality niche service to FI-FO workers, day-trippers, shoppers, students, holiday makers, essential healthcare and hospital attendees.
We service Mission Beach, Tully and pre-selected stops to Cairns and the Airport. In Mission Beach you will be picked up from-your-door prior to departure at 6:15 AM. We then travel North, collecting pre-booked passengers as required.
Typical pick-up points include El Arish, Silkwood, Mourilyan, Innisfail, Miriwinni, Babinda, Fishery Falls and Edmonton. The scheduled drop points usually include White Rock, Earlville, Cairns Central shopping Centre (with 2 School stops in between) and then on to Cairns Base Hospital and finally Cairns Domestic and International Airport.
At 2:30 PM the bus collects new faces at the airport and we do the whole thing in reverse order departing the Cairns central stop by 2:55 PM
BOOKINGS & PAYMENT
Online bookings are the best way to reserve your seats. Online bookings receive priority and you will receive instant confirmation for your trip. Just click the BOOK NOW tab and fill in your details. Don’t forget to provide your contact number and flight details if you are joining us from the Airport. Online bookings close at 2 pm on the day prior to travel. If you cannot complete your booking it may be because the bus is already fully booked. In this event please contact us directly on 0407 337661 between 9 AM and 2 PM Monday to Saturday only. Booking made by phone will attract additional administration fees and you will have no guarantee of travel.
If I am driving when you call I will ask that you send a text message/SMS with the details of your request and I will confirm you booking at a later time. Payment can be made upon boarding the bus by cash or card.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER PRIOR TO BOOKING/BOARDING.
The times on our schedule are Departure times. Passengers are asked to arrive at bus stops 10 minutes prior to pick-up times. All bags will be loaded and transported separately from passengers in a weatherproof trailer for safety and compliance reasons. Only hand luggage will be allowed in the main cabin.
Although we typically reach the airport between 9 and 9:15 AM, traffic and weather conditions will always interfere if you are in a hurry. Cassowary Coaster accepts no responsibility for missed flights due to late arrival. When booking flights, please ensure you allow enough time for unloading, security screening and check-in.
